Claude Gagnon, professor of classical guitar at Sainte-Foy College, is a graduate of Laval University, Quebec. He performs regularly as a member of various ensembles. During recent years, he has been particularly active with violinist Marc Gagnon, the Ensemble Mozaïka, the Trio de guitares de Québec, and the Trio Yadong.

His compositions and arrangements, consisting of pedagogical material as well as concert repertoire for solo guitar and guitar ensembles, are published and distributed worldwide by Productions d'Oz and Doberman-Yppan.

In 2001, he was invited to the "13e Biennale de guitare en Tricastin," where he directed the premiere performance of his composition Fredonnements for guitar orchestra, commissioned for the occasion. Several of his compositions like Alice au pays des merveilles for guitar trio, Douze préludes en forme d'études for solo guitar, Hello Cello for cello and guitar, as well as Kamendja for two guitars, are performed and recorded regularly.

Claude Gagnon has participated as an instrumentalist as well as a producer of several CDs for the Atma, Analekta and XXI labels. From 1999 to 2001, he has been regularly invited to share his discoveries of new recordings with the public of the French network of CBC Radio, Montreal.
