Irina Kircher was born in Stuttgart in April 1966. At the early age of 9 she was accepted as a special student at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, under Professor Mario Sicca, later she studied in Caracas with guitarist/composer Antonio Lauro.

Irina possesses a virtuoso technique and her interpretations are strongly emotional. She works frequently with major orchestras such as the Berliner Symphoniker and recently finished a recording of the Aranjuez, Giuliani, and Montes Concertos for the Labels BcoMe and Silenzio. She performs regularly in concerts throughout the world as a member of the duo Montes-Kircher. Her partner in the duo is her husband, the excellent Venezuelan guitarist/composer Alfonso Montes. She is at present director of the guitar department at the Stuttgart Music School.
