Bio of composers > LAUBER, Anne

Conservatory of Lausanne in her native Switzerland, Anne Lauber emigrated to Canada in 1967 where she studied with composer André Prévost. Now a Canadian citizen, she has become a member of the Canadian Music Center, and of the Canadian League of Composers. In 1979, she was commissioned to write a series of nine pieces for the Canadian Music Competition program. Grants from the Canadian Arts Council, from the ministère des Affaires culturelles of Quebec and from l'Association des musiciens suisses have enabled Anne Lauber to create works for various combinations of instruments, for orchestra, and for voice, as well as the music for the movie The Coffin Affair.
