Linda
Bouchard
was born in 1957 and has been pursuing a dynamic
career as composer and conductor in Canada and
the United States. She first went to the USA
in 1977 to study with Henry Brant at Bennington
College and continued her graduate studies in
New York City at the Manhattan School of Music.
Mrs. Bouchard has written over 50 compositions
in various genres including opera, orchestral
music and chamber music, concerto and dance
scores. Her works have been performed by the
Indianapolis Symphony, Toronto Symphony, l'Orchestre
Métropolitain and include commissions
by the American Dance Festival, Partita Ensemble,
Dora Ohrenstein, Musicians' Accord, Sage City
Symphony, and the Chamber Music Conference.
Her music has been recorded by the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation and by ECM in Germany.
Linda Bouchard is also active as a conductor
in opera, dance and 20th Century music.
