Bio of composers > VALLERAND, Jean

Born in Montreal, Jean Vallerand (1915-1994) studied violin with Lucien Sicotte and composition with Claude Champagne. He was the First Secretary of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and has held administrative posts with the CBC as well as with the Ministère des affaires culturelles du Québec. He has written several songs, chamber music works, works for orchestra as well as the chamber opera le Magicien.
