Bio of composers > OURKOUZOUNOV, Atanas Guitarist and composer, Atanas Ourkouzounov was born in Bourgas, Bulgaria. After guitar studies in Sofia he went to France to study with Arnaud Dumond at the National Conservatory of Music in Évreux. He went on the Paris Conservatory where he got his diploma in 1997, after studies with Alexandre Lagoya and Olivier Chassain. His compositions for guitar have earned him numerous prizes and distinctions, and his works are played regularly in solo recitals and by ensembles throughout Europe and North-America.
