As a soloist and ensemble performer, guitarist Charles Wolzien has presented recitals throughout the continental U.S. and Hawaii, including Carnegie Recital Hall and the Los Angeles Bach Festival; major university and civic-center series; national meetings of the Sonneck Society, College Music Society, and American String Teachers Association/Guitar Foundation; and six years as a performer on the roster of Columbia Artists Management - Community Concerts. He toured Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, and has performed in Canada, Australia, Asia, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe.
Dr. Wolzien is a columnist on early guitar for Soundboard magazine. He has written articles and reviews for Guitar Review magazine, published arrangements of flute and guitar music, and recorded early guitar works on the CD Dances, Grounds, and Songs which he made with vocal colleague Robert Harrison. He is an associate professor at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
