THE MAGIC GUITAR
This series provides stimulating pieces for the first four years of study and can be used along with any method.

The Magic Guitar series is a welcome addition to the repertoire:

This series of three anthologies was developed over the years by the guitar faculty of the School of Music of Laval University in Québec City, to provide students with new material of musical interest. Each of the books in this graded series consists of three sections: - Renaissance music, mainly transcribed from lute tablatures - Baroque music, transcribed from lute tablatures or adapted from music for other instruments - Contemporary music, some of which has been commissioned by the editors.

This book contains 20 small pieces based on folksongs and dances, mostly from Québec and France. Also included are some original compositions by Claude Gagnon. Music for 3 and/or 4 Guitars
A "must" for group teaching and first ensemble experiences! This widely acclaimed series of graded anthologies with 3 and 4 part pieces has proven to be of considerable value for the development of musicality for beginners and intermediate players. More advanced players will find a wealth of sight-reading and performing material in these books. Most of the four part pieces are written on three staves, thus allowing a more experienced player to play two of the parts at the same time.

Works by Susato, Attaignant, Scheidt, Gastoldi, Dowland, Arbeau and Bach among others. These are very easy 3 and 4 part pieces. In the first section, everybody plays in the first position. In the second section, the first guitar plays in higher positions but without changing position. The third section includes easy position playing in all parts.
