HERITAGE, LEE



Lee Heritage is assistant professor of music at the University of Toledo, Ohio, where he teaches theory, composition and the history of rock and roll. He is also the head of the composition program at the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. Dr. Heritage’s prize-winning compositions have been performed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. His output includes works for band, orchestra, voice and various instrumental combinations including works for acoustic instruments and live electronics.

Lee Heritage has received numerous awards for his compositions. He was composer-in-residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 1990. He holds degrees from the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Illinois. Heritage resides in Toledo, with his wife, Amy, and his Great Pyrenees dog, Bear.
